Exam's nearing and hardly gone out to anywhere decent. Soccer last week was merely a a short stint and it didnt even satisfy my toes yet...thanks to the rain...
My FYP's killing me, been going round and round and round and hitting all the humps here and there...hummph.
Only good thing is i met a really helpful lab technician, hopefully i'll be able to get some results by this week...so that i can go study for exams already.plssssssssssss plssssss plsssssss.....

Its stressful times like this that i tend to write more i guess, to get my mind off work and to conc on some other things. Its been a stressful week so far, and i can only see it getting worse...(hump ahead!!)
Completed Prof Communication presentation yest, 1 down for my module....wasnt too bad i think, altho i actually got nervous the more i spoke.haha....so the last part was rather srewed up. More quizzes coming..and FYP!!
Met my prof again today, i actually told him im quite worried abt my progress on the proj. And hail the lord, i couldnt have got a better answer from him. He looked at me and said : " dont worry, you got me...." In times of uncertainty, thats certainly something i would wanna hear. Sometimes, i really do complain about how abstract my proj seems, and it was him who recommended me to it, but i guess hes really a "Father" to me in school!!haha..He's got a slight curl in his hair too, just that he's from India..haha...theres something between me n India i think.haha....anw, my labs not accessible for next 2 weeks, n thats screwed up!!we'll see..i hate hiccups...
Hiccups it is, Dear zhi just taught me a way of curing them. She made me do it that day, and it sure looks stupid..haha.but effective. Hold ya stomach and bend down, before that take some water but dont swallow it. While bending, slowing swallow the water! And there goes, you're hiccup free.
It is hiccup, lifes full of hiccups.Once in awhile, things crop up, screw up and dont goes according to plan. Could be work, could be the bus that broke down on ya way to school or the weird neighbour you have. And when its more serious, u suffer a loud burp. I guess they're all part of life. Instead of seeing how much it screws up ya life, get over it, cure the hiccup...and when ure done with it, dont continue to frown over it. Remember that there are so much more times in life where u dont suffer the hiccups or the burp, magnify the positives and things will look that much better. maybe im guilty of simplifying the problems too much, but its precisely because we have too many issues in life to be bothered by the hiccups. So unless ure suffering hiccups with every breathe u take, in which case i'll agree thats a genuine prob, take time to think about the good things in life.

well im really behind time in terms of my blog entries, and even though its the holidays..im still very much busy everyday. Nowadays, i wake up feeling tired everyday. Too much work to do.
The guys came over to my place for bbq last weekend, the last time they came was 5-6 years ago.Yea, though we meet every week...haha. Ryan has been pestering me for bowling n bbq so darn long, finally i got down to making it happen.
So with the help of dear zhi, we planned the food and went grocery shopping and prepared the marinate and salad til late the night before. the planning part wasnt that hard, but the execution itself on the day was kinda stressful..haha
John, ryan, my cousin and i were the only ones at bowling...mike n gf came later. i didnt finish my game, coz i had to rush to prepare the bbq pit...was still worryin if i had prepared enough food,haha.curz they seem quite little when i brought it down.
Well the guys, esp john and ryan were rather disappointed i didnt order from EZB, curz "everyone's doing Ezb" apparently..haha...so the whole night this was whay i got...........
haha, then there was prob with making a strong enough fire for bbq with the charcoal i bought. somehow the ones i bought seem like they've been thru a mince machine or something, they were too small to start effectively. It took us a good 2 hrs before our 'cookhouse' starting producing food.(even had to buy another pack of charcoal and fire starter, well the fire starter was curz john pop em in as if he was in a war!haha)
The food were quite good after all, salad dear zhi and i made was good i thot...john's mushroom was selling like hotcakes.ha. so heres a scene of how it went...
haha! after bbq we even went to john's place for poker. my first try with em. Thought it was really mind-boggling and tiresome to have to play all that mind-games here and there.haha. i lost 7 bucks, but it was quite exciting overall.
Bbq was a fun thing, but i couldnt have done it running the whole show myself. Thanks to my sis, cousin, dad and dear zhi, all was good. It might have been quite stressful, but i thought we had a good time...sitting around and just chill in the cool evening.Its been a long time since we had Sat dinner, random dinner at det's place and stuff like that...we're all getting busier by the day, but at least we get to see each other during sunday soccer, our last straw now. haha. Keep it tight ya. Cheers.

Its been 1 week since my bdae and this year i seem to have more wishes than previous years, ok maybe not more wishes exactly but this yr im got wishes from my lower sec class and even RV ELDDS ppl..haha,thanx:)
And this year, ive got an elaborate bdae celebration from dear zhi! It all started with a surprise Chocolate Fondue on wed night. She called to meet me, and when i did...presented me with a home-made dark choco fondue. She prepared the fondue herself with fruits n all, and it was great. The dark choc tasted realli good and i finished a huge portion of it, even tho it's late in the night alr..haha. Dear zhi gave me a black cardigan, just what i wanted.=)
On sat, we went on a day out planned by dear zhi. We were at Orchard at 930am, dear zhi brought me to a unattractive corner at Taka. The place is called Toast, its a cosy pink little place, like a retro kitchen. They have lots to choose from, interesting salads to nice looking cupcakes. We went for the Chicken wrap and the amazing spinach mushroom Quiche, i couldnt stop eating the quiche!haha.
After breakfast we headed to ION and Far East for some shopping before going back. Apparently there would be another surprise for dinner.
Dear zhi called me later in the afternoon to say that we're goin to Botanical Gardens. At first i thot we're goin to have dinner at the restaurant or somethig but she actually prepared an entire course of dinner ready for a mega-picnic, haha.
So we lugged ths ice box and container, took a bus down to Botanical Gardens.haha yea with all the food!! We didnt really walked around much, but headed straight to our picnic spot where the famous tree is. There were lotsa families n kids around but we manage to find a good spot. Dear zhi was still worried about the weather, but we were lucky to have escaped the rain and gotten ourselves a nice cool weather for the evenin! Dinner was SUMPTOUS. Salmon sushi, california roll, wasabi prawn mayo sushi and Pasta salad with Italian dessing for a start. Then we had, Pita stuffed with mushroom, roasted potato and home-made pesto sauce! And the basil actually came from the plant we went to buy together 2 months back, yea, she planned it way back already.haha...
After dinner, it wasnt the end, she brought her (once again)home-made chocolate mousse cake from the ice box with deco some more.haha. Dear zhi didnt have a proper mixer at hm, making the cake entirely from scratch must have been really hard.The cake might not have been perfect but I love it and we finished it even after all the food. There were many kids playing ard us, and soon they got bored of climbing trees and playin with dead leaves. So after awhile, i realised we were being circled, by the kids!!haha, a few of them then started come and "attack" us,haha..so i played along and along but they wldnt stop.ha.
After dinner, we watched movie on my laptop. It was really fun lying on our mat out in the cool night, watching the movie with our jolly shandy.haha. We watched Ugly truth, and it wasnt too bad, we had a good laugh.
After the movie, it started to drizzle, what good luck we had..haha.
It was a funfilled and cosy day out with dear zhi, i noe she planned hard for it even though she's actually very very busy. So many late nights before to prepare the food and so much effort to think of the itenary. Thanks dear for the birthday celebration...and for everything else.=))

Its been a long time since i blogged, lack of action is one reason but i guess its mostly curz im too lazy to write....
School work has been loading me down week in week out, my FYP is also alot of work for me. Rather worried about it actually, curz i dunoe much about bio-engineering and im left to do all the readings myself. Need to do a good one, so i guess the worst of it has yet to come...
Went with Dear zhi to her friend Zhenling's birthday party, we went down early to help and did up her guest book for her. It wasnt all party and sitting around, we played Monopoly (cards version) and though it was rather crappy...i guess,it was quite amusing how we didnt know how to play the whole time even after we lost....Haha
So last weekend, we finally had soccer. After a 2 weeks break, i could feel myself panting harder already. haha, this week we changed the rules abit, allowing strikers to go into the Penalty area. And it sure made the whole game so much more exciting. Didnt score anything this time round, but still enjoyed playing seeing the guys score some really good goals..
Haven joined the guys for Poker though they've been meetin up every week, but at least theres our BBQ to look forward to 2 weeks down....finally i organized the bbq tt ryan has been bugging me for the past 1 or 2 years i think, haha. Yea, thats quite long...

Got a new file from Dear zhi which she decorated herself. Its a 20 compartment clear folder. Think its for me to be more organised,haha...talk about presents with a meaning huh,haha.No la, i like it, alot!!Appreciate it.Sat night, dear zhi and i went to Dempsey Hill Ben n Jerry's for some ice cream. Havent realli went out to have fun since school started...besides muggin and goin to school, i guess its good to put down our books and have a good night out,even if its just doing nothing much really.
Although its not that new a place, but i would still consider it another one of my fav spot in SG. Thanks to the nice colonial buildings and feel and the lack of tall and crammed buildings,maybe the nice cool weather helped as well.And its really hard to find places in singapore that is not about malls and neon lights, but to keep things simple and comfortable, not too hectic a place to be in.
We went to check out quite a few of the cool restaurants, and loved a few of em! Price is certainly on the high side, so i guess we'll stick to the ice cream and maybe the drinks will do...we leave the mains elsewhere.Ha. Ben n Jerry's was really packed and noisy. If not for the nice cow-boy/cottage decors, it would have been equivalent to a noisy coffeeshop!haha..Dear zhi and I had Double Belgian Waffle(chunky monkey and our fav coffee ice cream!!). ice cream was great until dear zhis's 'cant find phone' incident, haha. Eventually found the phone in the car, but some of the ice cream melted already,haha. But still i enjoyed it, havent had so much fun talking and just sit back for awhile.
After ice cream, we walked abit more before we head home, finding more nice places to go together next time!!

A specially prepared Waffle breakfast brought to school and a pink rose...that was how we celebrated the auspicious 8th month & coincidentally the chinese Vday(haha) together. haha...
Was suppose to wake up earlier to prepare the waffle proper but overslept, my phone tried to play a trick on me..still had time though and there we are....Aunt Jemmima Waffles with strawberries and California Raisins with Maple Syrup.Sweet!!
In the evening, i waited for dear zhi below her house...and surprised her on her way to Yoga with my pink rose. Then we walked to the CC tgt...=)
The school sem hasnt been exactly kind to us, we've basically been studyin(or at least trying to) day in day out...with lots to stress. Hopefully these wld have made ur days a little more happier.Jiayou dear!!

Its been 1 week into school, and as always i still get the false impression that 1st week's are meant to be slack...the school loves to play mind games with us and before i know it, its the end of the sem. It took me 3 years to realise the importance of a good degree and the importance of the chance to study. Im banking on the next 2 sem, so if you have that lil' bit more luck to spare, do send it to me.I'll be thankful:)
First friday of the start of the sem and dear zhi and i were spotted at Orchard having a short shopping trip. Not really actually, just that we needed to get her shoes curz the old one is not hanging on much longer. We took a peep at ION orchard, and it sure is a mega mall. Their food-level is also amazing, lotsa jap food that looks as expensive as they are selling it for!haha. But yea, we'll be back to check out the mall proper again.
Dear zhi eventually bought her shoes, almost got an extra one...haha,if not for the not-so-patient staff who got impatient with her trying the shoe.But its ok, there'll be a better one!
We went to Geylang on sat night. Yea,it was a HOT & STEAMY night-both of us...............................at the YongHe Dou Jiang Eatery that is!!(what did u think!!Haha).They served it abit like china-style, not too bad by my standards but dear zhi didnt really like it. We walked abit down geylang road, and saw many china ladies drinking with the old men at the coffee-shops. 'Colourful' night life of Singapore!
The World's worst Dog
Watched Marley n Me over the sunday afternoon on my Com. A really good pick i must say! Eventhough the movie ended as per all 'Dog-movies', with the death of the dog, but i enjoyed watching how John(the lead) grew from a newly-wed young man to a sensitive family man. Beyond Marley the show told about how they grew as a family from scratch. And with marley, it further strengthens my view of how in life, Imperfections can be the greatest form of perfection. Often its the imperfection of someone, something that makes that person extraodinary, and eventhough the imperfection may not be something we like or appreciate but its what makes that someone who he is.

It seems my holiday adventure is never ending, as a week into my school and im still blogging about them. But this is a true adventure, 2 days before school start, dear zhi and I took a bum-boat to PuLau Ubin for a day-out in the wild!!
We set off at 830 and reached Ubin at 1030, it was a rather long journey....taking the bum-boat already is a great feeling, like going on a holiday, or maybe i just love the sea view. Reaching Ubin, we had some breakfast at the Malay Stall. They were very insistent that we do not eat Outside Food...haha, i guess they saw my packet of Chwee Kuay and so warned me first. Not the most friendly of people considering they were the first islanders we met. Getting a bicycle there is easy as there were loads and loads of them, but they dont come quite that cheap tho as a better bike cost us 8 dollars...the shop-owner kept comparing prices with Sentosa!!(Hello?both also island doesnt mean can compare leh....ure sand is yellow leh not white!)haha...
So we set out, cycling down the Sensory Trail, Mamam Beach and Chek Jawa! Venturing into the Secret Garden we checked out all the herbs n Spices and coffee plant. After that we took the long way to Mamam Beach, which personally was quite a disappointment. THe beach was more like a sand patch, not quite what i had imagined curz i planned to have a lunch break there. Good thing the Orchid Plantation is just round the corner and we got to see lotsa baby rabbits, pet dogs and a pet wild boar!yea...
We then took the hilly roads up to Chek Jawa. It was the most challenging part of the day curz we had actually cycled for 2-3 hours non-stop. When we finally reached Chek Jawa, we were surprise to see a nice cottage sitting right by the sea...the broad-walk extends right to the sea and it was quite shiok sitting there, doing nothing but just listening to the wind.
After chek jawa, i had nothin on my itenary alr..haha.and so we trekked back and reached the jetty at about 230pm. A short 4 hr on the island, but an enjoyable one getting close to nature. Cycling through the hilly paths werent easy, so Kudos to dear zhi who trekked and pushed the bike with me til the end!!Good job yea.
After a rather heavy lunch at Changi Village, inroducing dear zhi to their famous Red-Tea Longan..And since we ended early, we took a bus home from Tampinese interchange to CCK!!oh yea...a whopping 1 plus/2 hours!! You can imagine, thats like 1/3 of our outing time already!!wahaha.

On the friday before school start i spent a day with dear zhi doing all the simplest things we can and enjoying the attractions around the neighbourhood!!haha.
We started with Sushi making over at Dear zhi's place. It was my first time making sushi myself...and it sure is not as hard as it seems to make an edible one, although im not doubting the skills of the japanese sushi chefs, takes alot to know the amount and shape of the moulded rice. Anw, i picked up some skills from dear zhi who's really quite good at it...yea professional?!haha..Below which im rather proud of are the sushi we made,comprises of tuna, crabstick mayo and california Rolls!!Yea, go on and salivate.....wahaha...
After lunch, we did up our Photo album!!!Contents are secret....haha...
Then we took the free shuttle bus to Qian Hu, where we had the FIshSpa!!Student price was not too ex, 5 per 30mins. Being a grown up man and army trained, but never did i imagine how all those tiny little fishes could conquer me and make me cringe like nobody's business!!haha...it wasnt pleasant at all for a start. So after much suffering, we tried the pool with Bigger fishes..haha..it feels less ticklish but it was too big for comfort for dear zhi. So we went back to the smaller fishes, and this time round it felt much better and i gradually began to enjoy and relax!!hahaha. So much i forgot we only had 30mins...well, i would go back for more, and girls...this is better than your average shower foam that guarantees smooth skin!!haha
It wasnt over, as we ventured down the ulu road to an orchard in search of the Basil Plant dear zhi had been looking for. Thanks to the friendly uncle who seemed really proud of his collection of herbs n spices and introduced us to almost all of it...we found the plant and verified the smell!!Yea, better than those we found in Carrefour. Fresh from the nature!!
Dear zhi headed home a happy girl with her plant, i headed home happy as well...the simplest day out yet the most fun out of it=)
